PRINTMAKING

INTAGLIO

In college I learned the intaglio process, which involves etching copper plates using ferric acid, and hand-inking before running the plate through a press.

My sources of inspiration relied heavily on interpretations of the life sciences.

Intaglio’s capability for delicate, fine linework performed beautifully while rendering the nuance in the inconceivable complexity of the mini and microscopic muse.

Similar to intaglio, this process involves exposing an image onto a copper plate versus hand-drawing it.

A good friend of mine moved to Florida, and this is a collection of shells from visiting the beaches where she lives, alongside shells from the beaches here in Maine.
